Outfielder.  Chicago White Sox, 1915-1920.
Batted:  left.  Threw:  right.
Born:  7/16/87, Brandon Mills, South Carolina.  Died: 12/5/51


  • .356 lifetime batting average.
  • .387, .408, and .395 batting average for Cleveland in 1910-12.
  • .518 lifetime slugging average.
  • 168 career triples, 21 in 1916 alone.
  • Still leads the Sox in total bases, 336 in 1920.
  • Batted .304 in Sox's 1917 world championship series
  • Batted .375 in Sox's ill-fated 1919 world championship series.  Also collected 12 hits (3 doubles), scored five times, drove in 6 rbi's, and hit a home run in the final game, a .563 slugging percentage for the series.  Jackson was flawless in the outfield, too.
  • Acquitted of criminal conspiracy to fix the 1919 World Series.
  • Banned from baseball in 1920 by Kennesaw Landis.
  • No official recognition by the Chicago White Sox baseball team or Major League Baseball.

Chosen by Sox fans' as the greatest hall of fame outfielder from the pre-1960 era.
