Overrated Phenom-enal!
(June 7)
Short Take: 24.2 shutout innings
for Buerhle!
Three weeks ago, another of the local media's biggest critics and idiots
took a undeserved shot at the young talent of the Chicago White Sox suggesting
the team led the league in "overrated phenoms". We've come to
expect such nonsense from the Cubune's Skip Bayless.
Those of you not from Chicago might be surprised to know Sox Fans regularly
must tolerate this sort of abuse of our team from the local sports scribes and
talking heads on televisions. No team or its fans are more maligned in
the local media than our White Sox by the Skip Clueless and lesser dolts in
the Chicago media.
So we're pleased to once again point out how "Clueless" earned
his nickname as yet another of those "overrated phenoms" sticks ten
feet up the part of his anatomy never intended by nature for such duty.
22 year-old Mark Buerhle pitched eight shutout innings to lead the Sox
to a 5-1 victory over Kansas City to take the rubber game in the three-game
series.
The Sox come home winners to the only fans in Chicago that ultimately give
a damned what the final score is.
Buerhle gave up just two hits, one in the fourth inning and another in the
fifth. Kansas City's only run came in the bottom of the ninth off
reliever Keith Foulke, the very Sox pitcher Bayless predicted would be
the only Sox player to make this year's all-star game "because somebody
has to be picked from each team."
Oh Skip, we're going to have a lot of fun at your expense all season
long. You can put it on the board!
A tip of the Sox cap to Magglio Ordonez who looks more and more like
a player who really hates the nasty rumors suggesting the team would consider
offers to trade him. He went 4 for 4 with two doubles. Carlos
Lee put up a two-run two-out dinger. Paul Konerko and Royce
Clayton (!) each had two-out rbi's, too.
Now onto to some important business back at Comiskey.

two-hit shutout for eight innings. That makes 24.2 consecutive

bad for an overrated phenom, isn't that right, Clueless?
