"Super Sox" break out of lumber slumber, bash '69 Senators

White Sox 13, Senators 6

Feeling a bit lazy these days, so I haven't posted my latest result in a couple of days. Just wanted to put a brief recap-the Super Sox busted out of their one game slump and subjected Ted Williams' 1969 Senators to a 13-6 whacking at RFK Stadium. The Sens jumped out to a quick 3-0 1st inning lead on a home run by Mike Epstein, who also smacked one to stake his team to a 5-3 lead.

Otherwise, it was all Sox, who chipped away and finally took a 7-6 lead until the 9th, when they opened up on Senator reliever Darold Knowles, who was trying to keep it close. Six runs crossed the plate in that frame to put the game away. Wilbur Wood put the Sens down in the bottom frame, making a winner of Joel Horlen, who gave up all six Senator runs in a shaky start.
