In honor of actor Andy Garcia and his (unintentionally) hilarious reaction to Sofia (Mary Corleone) Coppola's death scene in "The Godfather, Part III."
IMF is in the headlines
IMF Chief fights sex allegations
Phelps: Charges “baseless”
Jim Phelps, the longtime head of the Impossible Missions Force, is now faced with an impossible mission of his own-fighting off charges of sexual misconduct made by an ex-employee.
The woman, identified as former IMF Agent Cinnamon Carter, has alleged that Phelps gave her several choice assignments in exchange for sexual favors. Phelps emphatically denies her claims.
“Cinnamon’s charges are baseless, and I hope to clear my name soon. My record as head of the IMF is impeccable. I am an honest, upright government employee who happens to resort to dirty tricks and con games in order to achieve our ends.”
The IMF is a clandestine organization that has been in existence since the 1960’s. Originally founded by Dan Briggs, Phelps took over after Briggs mysteriously disappeared and was never heard from or mentioned again. The IMF has, by its own count, busted 221 drug lords, put 348 Syndicate operatives out of business, deposed 524 evil despots, and lured 15 criminals into countries with whom the U.S. has an extradition treaty.
The secretary disavowed any knowledge of Phelps’s actions.
