The year they lowered the mound, Bob Gibson was 20-13 with a 2.18 ERA and a 1.10 WHIP with 269 K's at 33 years of age. Oh, and he had a 11.2 WAR that year.
I'm 33, but my dad still says, if his life depended on a pitcher getting a guy out, he would pick Bob Gibson, in his prime.
