MLB play-by-play announcers are always quick to point out that balls and strikes are judged based on the ball's location as it crosses the plate, rather than where the catcher catches the ball, as fans sometimes mistakenly believe. Be that as it may, the ball is clearly
outside the strike zone as it crosses the plate, and should not have been ruled a strike.
Does anyone else besides me find it amusing that AJ was involved in this play? Obviously, he had nothing to do with the call being incorrect, but it's funny that he was there.
