However, Danks really is a "league average #3 starter" and therefore consumes a disproportionately large chunk of the Sox payroll.
Even McCarthy admitted the White Sox "won" that trade, but Danks' numbers have really dropped off of late. When McCarthy signed with Oakland there was another thread that posted their numbers and Danks had much better numbers. Now McCarthy has changed his game a bit and has had some decent years in Oakland but he his hampered by a chronic shoulder problem. Danks might have it now as well though.
