Burks made the all star team with Colorado AFTER the Sox let him go, therefore he couldn't have been "past his prime" could he?
Also if guys are "past their prime" how could players like Seaver, Tartabull and Burks put up the numbers they did with the Sox?
Seems to me we differ on the definition of "past their prime."
In baseball, prime usually means when a player is 28-32. That does not mean they can't have good seasons beyond that.
