Can't blame them, they had the best record in baseball after that Reed/Thornton meltdown in mid-June, but since then have faded baaaaaaad... They're only 14-23 since then, better than only the horrible Rockies and the full-on-firesale Astros.

LA may have only picked up League on Monday to prevent him from going to the Giants. Bullpen breakdowns have played a prominent role in the Giants current five-game losing streak that has turned the NL West into a three-team race.
The Dodgers appear to be setting up to be Yankees West. They already had a former Yankee star as manager. The Giants, Padres etc. are going to have to develop strong young talent because they aren't going to keep up with the Dodgers in the free-agent market. |
