Per reports, U.S. Cellular is selling its Chicago and other Midwestern markets to units of Sprint.

EDIT: An updated Tribune story reports that the ballpark will continue to be called U.S. Cellular Field.

So, U.S. Cellular will no longer have cell service in Chicago?
How much longer to they own the naming rights to U.S. Cellular Field? I would expect that means that the park will have a new name after that current deal expires.

I believe it was a 20 year deal starting the first year of the most recent renovations - probably 2002 or 2003.

Kinda bummed about U.S. Cellular, I fully intended to go back to them if they ever got the iPhone. They were by far my favorite telecom provider.

I wonder if they are able to sell the naming rights. I can't imagine them keeping the name if they will have no presence in Chicago.

Their headquarters will still be in Chicago.
