Default Who will be the first Sox player traded?

I can't wait to see the firesale start. My prediction it will be Jeff Keppinger.

If the Red Sox really want Matt Thornton, it could happen this week for relatively nothing. It would basically be a salary dump for a low-level minor leaguer.

I would go with Thorny for the first guy traded. He can still get lefties out, but the Red Sox have too much leverage, so I'm not expecting much of a return.

Thornton to Boston for Curt Shilling's bloody sock and a Carlton Fisk jersey.

Jesse Crain....I know he is on the DL but I think he will go first.

No poll?

My vote is Rios, shortly after the all-star break.

Are you not aware that in a "firesale" the seller receives less than the maximum value? Instead of a fire sale, why not wish for no more than one or two trades for maximal value?

I don't understand why anybody cares about the 4 lefties situation. 3 of them have an era under 4. I don't care if our starters pitch with their feet, if they keep their era under 4, they are welcome to stay.

Agree, if a pitcher is able to get batters out that should be the only thing that matters,.

Why not wish for maximum return for every veteran dealt?

But though FRATER laughed openly, he wept secretly; and really he neither laughed nor wept. Nor did he mean what he said.
