The article puts a nice little spin on it for Padres fans, saying he was the White Sox 1st pick in 1999, 25th overall. In reality, I believe he was a 25th round pick.

You're right, but I don't think the writer was trying to spin anything. Probably just an honest mistake.

They had to make room on the 40-man for Jason Bourgeois--who had to be added because of Chris Getz's broken arm.

I don't know if the DFA process changes because it's September, but I thought we had 10 days to trade him until he's released, and 10 days hasn't passed. Does anyone know if we got anyone for him?

Not so fast. If they aren't even going to throw in any cash to help us with that inflated salary of his, you can tell them to shove it.

This is a nice move. Charlie is going to have the best chance of success possible - by the ocean in a huge National League park - and the Sox add a player to the 40-man who should stick beyond this season.

The Sox easily could have cut garbage like Day instead, but it looks like this might have been more of a favor to Charlie to find a new team before the end of the season and get a fresh start. Charlie has a future somewhere, but it's just not in this ballpark.

I know, it's for the best, but that doesn't change the fact that he's no longer with our Org. Best of luck to Charlie we will never forget that saturday game vs Seattle.

Dude, it's ten days to do something, not ten days to just trade.
