Rosenthal is reporting that the Orioles have acquired DH/1B from the Phillies in a deal that will be announced after each team's games today.

Keep it going, Jim. No need to hang 'em up just yet.

I like Thome, but he seems to kill Sox pitching and Sox play 4 in Baltimore in August, a series the Sox always seem to have trouble with anyway.
Not good for Sox,but maybe he will beat the Tigers and Tribe also. |

The Orioles acquired Jim Thome from the Phillies in exchange for Class A players Gabriel Lino and Kyle Simon.

Thome has still been a better and cheaper DH vs. RHP than anyone else the Sox have had for the ~$35M we've spent on Kotsay/Manny Ramirez/Dunn the past 2.5 seasons-nice to see him get a shot with a team somewhat in contention.

Good for Thome.
It's nice to see Baltimore being buyers at the deadline for seemingly the first time since the late 90's.
