Hawkins will report to Bristol now that he has signed his contract. Let's hope that tomorrow is the first of many times that Hawkins and Barnum will be in the lineup together, as part of the White Sox organization.

I came to ask this question and you have answered it for me. It doesn't look like Hawkins is in the line up tonight but Barnum is

Hansen has apparently signed with the Sox.

Correct. Keon Barnum is in the lineup for Bristol, batting sixth and playing first base.

Of note, the person doing radio play-by-play for Bristol is absolutely the worst radio announcer I've ever heard in my life.

Example: "A shot! It's hit to Coste, and he maintains control... of the ball!"

I invite everyone to listen to the Bristol Sox PBP announcer, in order to understand how awful he is.

In the bottom of the second inning, the Bluefield Blue Jays catcher lost track of the number of outs, and started to leave the field. What did our wonderful PBP man say, "And the catcher is headed toward the dugout because... he... though there were three outs, but... he... was quickly mistaken."

On a side note, I had no idea Mitch Mustain was on Bristol. I was wondering what happened to him after his arrest.

UCSB was SHOCKED when they heard this. He was not expected to get enough to sign and give up his scholly there. He told the Cardinals to not draft him in the fourth round because what they told him they'd give him was not going to be enough.

He's a long way from sniffing USCF - but certainly someone to watch as he moves through our system.

Also, the White Sox have spent every $ of their bonus pool this year:

Looks like the Cubs spent about 5% over their bonus pool.

Does anyone know the specific on penalties this year?

I thought this type of overspending was supposed to result in fines and loss of draft picks.

Teams can spend up to 5% over with no penalty.
