He had a strong year in 08, but has regressed a little every year after. Last year he was so so at best, and this year hurt.

Very scary!! I still refer to him as "Abe" because of his tall, lanky look, dark hair and long face. I hope he recovers 100%!

I guess it was more the tone of the post that got me. "Defend Danks..." Does Danks require defending?

Those "life threatening" reports are pretty scary.

Hope that Brandon continues to recover and can get back to a more normal level of health.

That trade was still a good trade. We don't make the playoffs in '08 or contend in 2010 without Danks. Danks' contract extension could be up for a bit of debate as he hasn't really turned the corner but I think he would have gotten a similar deal if he had been allowed to hit the market.

The A's have released a statement saying that while his condition has improved it is still "life threatening."

I am sure I am just reiterating what others have said but when I saw he walked off the mound under his own power I thought he had "ONLY" a concussion. I was stunned when I saw he had emergency brain surgery. I really hope he comes through this okay.

A little late to the party, but holy crap. Emergency brain surgery? Hope for a speedy recovery, let alone being able to pitch again...

That's tremendous. Hope he does well. Can't imagine that I would ever have the nerve to pitch a baseball if I were him.
