First Granderson broke his arm, now Teixeira is out for 8-10 weeks with a strained wrist tendon. Youkilis may wind up playing first to start the season.

Perhaps a third place finish for the Blue Jays is indeed possible now.

When I saw the thread title I was wondering why they would play with only a Center Fielder but then realized they might have signed Aaron Rowand.

I don't know what this means. The Blue Jays have an excellent chance to win the division. Third place would a disappointment if they finished there.

And Rivera retired (not sure how long he was supposed to be out this year, if at all... but thats moot now).
Gonna be a long year in the Bronx. And that makes me happy. |

Rivera announced he's retiring after the season ends, not immediately.

Don't forget Jeter still hasn't played a game nor ran the bases full speed this spring.

Looks like Dan Johnson might get a shot to play every day for a little while. Good for him. Being a lefty, he might put up some nice numbers at that ballpark too.

And then the Sox will overpay for his services in 2014.

The Yankees should have picked up Brent Lillibridge. He can play 7 positions, maybe not great, but he can play them. With the way their season is going, he certainly would be a help.
They've used a lot of Sox castoffs recently, in Nix, Swisher, Chris Stewart, Dwayne Wise, Dan Johnson, Youkilis, so Lillibridge would fit in well there. Plus I like Brent, and it would be slightly easier rooting for him to do well as a Yankee than as a Cub.

It would be sweet if both the Yankees and Red Sox miss the playoffs in the same season.
