Not one mention of Yu Darvish pitching a Perfecto up until the 27th batter?

Albert Pujols will apparently not have a lengthy home run drought to begin this season, as he has launched his first two home runs of 2013 against the pitching staff of the Texas Rangers.

He had 0 HRs and 4 RsBI in April 2012. That is one deep, scary-looking lineup; and one unimpressive looking pitching staff. They could hit well north of 200 HRs and yet finish in 3rd place.

I agree. They'll score plenty of runs, but they'll also give up more than their share. I'm not completely sold on either Oakland or Texas, as I think all three teams will be fighting for control of the division until the final weeks of the season.

Braves go into the 8th down 5-1, score 3.

Marmol comes into the 9th (they already used Fujikawa).

The Brothers Upton each hit solo shots, first BJ then his brother Justin to win it.

Leave it to the Cubs to find a way to screw up.

Edit: Justin Upton is locked in.

Upton is now 4-4 and has more hits than the entire Marlins lineup.

By far the worst strike 3 call I have ever seen and I have been watching baseball for 30 years now.

Wow.

(Nathan's 300 save).

I heard Maddon's response on the way to work this morning, and I'm amazed at the restraint he showed in his interview. MLB needs to do something about situations like this. Of course, with Jest West as president of the of umpire association, it's hard to believe anything good can come of this.

Did you see Nathan's face afterwards. He was shocked. You can read his words "WOW!"
