I'd take a chance on him with a minor league deal if he is willing to go.

A guy who can play any position (below average) and not hit?
Seems perfect for our Sox!

No.. just no. No more bringing bad players back or talking about bringing them back because they used to play here.

The only way he rejoins the Sox is if they need a back up batboy.

They got the best of him in 2011. He showed his true colors after that. No need. The Sox have enough guys in the lineup that can't hit.

Below average in the infield for sure, but Brent was an above average outfielder. I laughed when I heard Sveum raving about his ability to play SS during Cubs Spring Training though. He was a butcher at just about every infield position.

It's even more surprising when one considers that Sveum was a shortstop. Then again, Castro isn't reminding anyone of Barry Larkin or Ozzie Smith out there.

Wasn't Castro advertised as a do everything shortstop? Maybe not the second coming of Ernie Banks, but an all star for sure. At least that's the impression I got.

Agree, I appreciate how much he tried for the Sox but he has not done much since then and we do not need him back.

Those two catches in New York were probably the highlight of the 2011 season, so you always have to give him props for that.

On a somewhat related note, seemingly every Cubs prospect is advertised as something special, and most of them turn out to be anything but. |
