Brian:

Correct. Chet would take some from time to time but not often. His focus was on guests providing information and at times breaking news.

Chet thinks his age is a problem all right. Why else would he get a face lift and a hair transplant? Too bad for Chet that he can't get a "refuses to take calls from listeners" transplant. That, IMO, is his main problem.

Pretty much this. He may be right or wrong on some of these thoughts, but it really doesn't matter. He hasn't been relevant in a while. He was, and still is a vain, arrogant, smug person, to put it nicely. He made some laundry list like this a couple years ago too about the radio and TV sports personalities. I remember him opining that one of the female anchors should be back home doing laundry, or something to that affect. This just looks to me like another "Hey, look at me ! I'm still here ! Pay attention to me !!!" ploy. Maybe him and Mike North can start a Webio show together. Oh, wait.......

in the Trib story I love this quote, "Why is Dan Bernstein so hateful? In his heart of hearts, I think he wants to be Jay Mariotti." Either he is pandering to Hawk, or that sound bit that Boers and Bernstein play is a reflection of reality not mockery.

Always dug Chet. It's a crime he's not on the air.

Can anyone explain Mike Adamle? It's mindboggling he's been on TV in this market, or any market, for so long. He's the worst media member I've ever seen in Chicago by far.

Who the **** would want a job in Evansville, Indiana? I'm embarrassed to say that I was born there (which I had no control over, of course).

Adamle might not be the best in the business but he also strikes me as at least a halfway decent human being, unlike Giangreco or many on sports talk radio.

I don't know Adamle off the air so I can't say either way, but I vaguely recall a reported incident where he showed up to a station drunk and even did some damage.

I don't get the comment about Holmes. I really enjoy listening to him on the radio and I think he is okay on television. Is he doing something poorly on television that I am just missing?

I don't know if you mean the time he was pulled over for a possible DUI and they later found out that he hadn't any alcohol but did have some sort of seizure disorder or something that contributed to his erratic driving.

The better question is how two morons like B&B are the afternoon show.

Had a run-in with Chet a few years ago when interviewing for an internship at Chicago Sports Webio before it went under. He asked a very personal question that I won't mention here, but let's just say I could make a case that would allow me to collect money from him.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised that I firmly disagree with Coppock on every one of his assessments. He is, was, and likely always will be an arrogant boob. Lawrence Holmes is more amiable, informed, and less buffoonish than that knucklehead Chet ever was.

Larry Holmes is a phony. Phony tough guy. Phony ladies man. Phony friend and insider with Bears players like Lance Briggs. Annoying fake laugh/cackle. Tries too hard to emulate and kiss Dan Bernsteins ass. He belongs nowhere near tv or radio, especially in the 3rd largest market in the country. High school radio shows are better than anything he does.
