Default Juan Uribe operating at high level

Juan Uribe was a single short of the cycle last night.

Yes, Juan Uribe hit a triple somehow!

I remember Uribe hit a triple off of Mariano Rivera in 2005 at Yankee Stadium in the 10th inning, then Pods hit a grounder to second and Uribe beat the throw from Cano missing the tag to give the Sox a 2-1 lead. Hermanson came in and closed it out for the save.

I only remember it because I went to the first game of that 3 game set. The Sox lost game 1 but won games 2 & 3 but they were all close exciting games.

Even more amazing is the fact that he's walked in 10.3% of his plate appearances - that's almost twice the walk rate he had during his time with the Sox.

Most guys from the '05 Sox are out of the league but Uribe is still going strong. Crazy times.

I remember that too. Sox won games 2 and 3 both by scores of 2-1. Game #2 was when that idiot jumped from the upper deck into the lower deck protective netting behind home plate because his friends dared him to.

Was that the same series that this happened?

IIRC, Pods made the catch anyways.
