Close game, down 5-3, and Detroit has 2 runners on from a walk and infield hit.
Cabrera up, so Ventura brings in the worst pitcher on the staff to face him.

This kind of nonsense all season long has contributed to this W/L record.

How many scouts there tonight? I counted ten, holding velocity speed guns.

Default Leyland speaks well of Axelrod

"To be honest with you, I was impressed," said Leyland. "The guy might not be lights-out stuff but at the same time, this guy knows what he's doing. I'm sure Robin was thrilled that he got that deep into the game after the way it started, because it looked like we might get to it, but he hung in there tough."

Relive the magic of Wednesday's loss by reading my TBGR, complete with references to Clu Haywood, Yaz, and of course, 1967.

I'm completely insane and still watch the team a few times per week but every time Troncoso starts to warm up I grab the clicker. Even I can't take that kind of punishment.

I am sure the Sox would make him available to the Tigers any time. Maybe there looking for a batting practice pitcher. They could have Tronsco too; anything to help out the Indians.

What's the word on Simon Castro? He's big and strong, throws with a lot of effort, is moving from starting to relieving, and reports I find about him often mention a heavy low to mid 90s fastball. The last two nights he has seemed to struggle to hit 90, with most fastballs at 88-89.

I was sitting a two rows from the field in the left-field corner during the last homestand, and the as the Sox brought in a reliever, I yelled out, "Oh no, not Troncoso again!"

Needless to say the reliever coming into the game wasn't Troncoso and someone in the Sox pen gave me the dirtiest look ever...
