There's a difference between defending your friend and going all, "All you people" on everybody.

Dino Laurenzi may not have lost his job, but he's the guy Braun threw under the bus to (temporarily) save his own skin.

I hope Laurenzi sues him for big bucks.

He called out MLB and Cable sports(read: ESPN) after braun was found not guilty. I don't see that as going "All you people" on everybody, more of a "I told you so" type of thing. Like i said, he went over the top.

This is what he said shortly after the braun test was leaked:

"I was very surprised the news came out the way it did. You would think that there would be some sort of confidentiality surrounding the situation because he is appealing it. Other than that, I don't really want to comment a whole lot on the allegations or whatnot. I would say I 100% support Ryan and believe in him and it's not going to affect our friendship in the least. I'm 100% supporting him and behind him and believe in everything that he says.
"I've known Ryan for a while now, and we've spent a lot of time hanging out. I've been in the locker room, and I've seen him working out and stuff. It's just ridiculous the allegations. ... I don't know exactly what all is out there, but I just am trusting that my good friend has not been using anything illegal, and I'm very confident that's the case because I know how much he cares about the integrity of the game and wouldn't do anything to jeopardize that."

Again, to me, that is simply a guy defending his friend.

Unfortunately, "he acted like a real dickbag" is not a recognizable cause of action.

Is "obtained a contract through fraudulent means" actionable for the Brewers?

Braun is dumber than a box of rocks.

On another note these guys are cheating and should be given harsher penalties, Pete Rose bet on his own team to win and so far is banned for life, is what he did worse than these cheaters?

Rose is just as dumb and who knows that he only bet on his team to win. What I dont understand is why cant these guys cover their tracks. Why didnt Braun get someone close to him to buy his juice and why didnt Rose get someone close to him to make his bets? They must have someone in the world they can trust to do that stuff.

I'm as jaded as any with the steroid issue, to the point that I've simply accepted its pervasive existence in the game. However, both are issues of an ever-present problem in their own era (grown from cumulative issues from eras prior) that impact the integrity of the game. In one case, an all-time great was made example of in ultimate fashion and the problem was curbed, I believe the same should be done here while we have a chance to punish one of these guys before they retire. Three strikes and you're out doesn't work when testing is a total joke compared to the effort put into cheating.

Wow, a million times worse, if you were a judge I would hate to have to face you in a court room besides that Pete won't live that long.

Could it be considered Defamation of Character? My quick google-fu says maybe:

Quote:
Defamation of character is a very specific area of law that requires that specific elements of fact be maintained. First, to be accused of defamation, the accuser must prove that you have made a false statement them. Secondly, the statement must be made publicly and not involve a private conversation, the statement must be negligent on your part and, finally, the person who is making the accusation against you must prove they have sustained damages as a result of the negligent, false and public statements.
Seems to fit that profile quite well, right?

Exactly. After Braun demonized the guy, the guy got numerous death threats from Brewers fans.
