Didn't Neil Cotts make his MLB debute at Yankee Stadium, and get rolled by the Yankees?

No. Cotts' debut was against the Angels (ND). You're thinking of a game at the old Yankee Stadium when Jerry Manual elected to start Cotts rather than push, I believe, Buehrle up a day.

Yep. August 28, 2003. Sox entered that day in sole possession of 1st place in the Central, finished the season 15-14 including that hammering Cotts took against the Yankees. Unfortunately, the Twins went 22-8 for the last month of the season and caught and passed the Sox. The Sox, though, did lose 5 of 7 head-to-head games with Minnesota in September and they ended up finishing 4 games behind them.

Birmingham is in the championship series in the Southern League for the first time since 2002. They beat Tennessee last night in the fifth game to advance.
The Barons play two-time defending champ Mobile. The series starts Wednesday in Mobile. |

The White Sox Minor League Barons beat the Cubs farm team yesterday in the Playoffs. The so called great farm system got beat by the Barons even though some of the Barons were called up by the White Sox recently. I couldn't help but notice that both Chicago papers didn't even mention the Barons victory in todays papers. If the Cubs had beaten the Barons, do you think the papers would of said something about the series? This is just another example how the Chicago media favors the Cubs and how this local media ignores the White Sox.

BTW, do the Cubs have any decent pitching prospects at any levels of the minors? More to the point, do they have any pitching prospects that are ahead of Erik Johnson or Andre Rienzo? Or, for that matter, Jake Petraica, Daniel Webb or Tyler Danish? |
