The minor league season is over, right? I thought he was in Charlotte, and their last game is this afternoon.

Really hope Danks gets a long look at extended play time as opposed to sending DeAza out there. DeAza should not be back next year. Worst of dumbest players on this team.

Could not agree with you more. DeAza is definitely not baseball smart. I am hoping they can get Bourjos from the Angels and Freeze from the Cardinals and some how move Dunn and have Viciedo DH and play some LF. Signing a free agent like Choo would do wonders. Just being able to see good defense would feel good. I can only dream.

Have to see what Semien can do along with L.Garcia. With Flowers needing surgery, Gonzalez is a no-brainer. I'm looking forward to seeing what Johnson does with this opportunity. If he can work to be a 3 or 4 starter, that would be great.
Interesting. Glad they are deciding to give Semien some major league ABs. He's certainly earned it with his stellar season. Though he did have a little bit of a rough transition from AA to Charlotte.

I would like to see Sale shut down after another start or two. You can see what you have in Johnson, give Alexei some time off and Semien a chance and Garcia to fill in at 2nd, 3rd, SS once in awhile.

What's the word on Webb? Is he another closer candidate or more likely a middle relief/set-up guy?

Default Called Up From Triple-A Charlotte

Erik JohnsonRHP will make his major league debut Wednesday against the Yankees. Infielder Marcus Semien, right-handed reliever Daniel Webb and catcher Miguel Gonzalez also arrived at Yankee Stadium.

Ventura said that the Sox will likely use a modified six-man rotation for the rest of the season. That could include left-hander Charlie Leesman, who was called up Sunday.

Ventura said Leury Garcia, who went 0-for-3 in his Friday start at shortstop, will see significant playing time in the final three weeks of the season. Tthe 22-year-old shortstop is hitting .133 with an RBI and two stolen bases. Ventura said he plans to start Garcia at second base Saturday.
