2012 Sox vs Detroit - 6-12
2013 Sox vs Detroit - 6-8 w/ 5 to play.

Not at all frustrating.

Plus the game we were up 6-0 in the 6th with Peavy on the mound...or the one where Thornton gave up the walkoff in Detroit. Sigh.

Back to this year, it is to the point where it is just nice to see a win.

Chris Sale is the most dominant Sox pitcher in my lifetime.

And IMO having the best back to back season of any White Sox pitcher in the last 40 years (since Wilbur Wood).

Better than Black Jacks 92/93 seasons and Lamar Hoyt's 82/83 seasons.

Further proof he will experience a career ending injury while taking out the trash one night......

Watching a dominant performance from Chris Sale was great and giving Max Scherzer his 3rd loss as opposed to his 20th win was pretty great, too!

Two in a row, but this win is like closing the door of an empty barn.

Chris Sale won't win the Cy Young this year but that doesn't change the fact that he is better than Max Scherzer and is having the better season. It's not Chris's fault he has a fifth place team behind him.

The best hitter to ever walk the planet leaving after the first," Sale said. "(But) ... you still have to make pitches because they have a heck of a lineup up and down."
Sale said he looked toward the heavens and whispered a thank you when Cabrera was ejected from the game with two outs in the first inning Monday.

Sale was excellent last night. He's placing a big emphasis on finishing the year strong. Let's hope he does just that. We all hope that one day he will be the pitcher to lead us to October glory. First, he's gotta learn how to get through September. Like a lot of guys, he was out of gas at the end of last season. No time like the present to build up the endurance that is needed to be that 30-start, 200-plus-innings ace.

I love beating the Tigers.

The Tigers are only 4 games up on the Indians in the loss column.
Sox could really be spoilers this week with the Tigers, and then roll over for the Indians who come in for 4 games later this week.

Screw the Tigers...go Tribe.

If nothing else hopefully that would quiet the fans who think the Sox absolutely must do a complete teardown and redbuild to catch a Tigers team that was a "lock" for 100+" wins this year.

I'd rather Detroit win it all this year. It might end the spending binge Ilitch has been on the last few years in his quest for a WS Championship. Besides, Tigers fans show up; Indians fans don't. Indians fans don't deserve the post-season.
