And they play @ SF too, right? So they have SF in a home and away series. Would this be the Sox first trip to SF? The LA week-long visit is interesting too.

They were in SF in 2008. Alexei hit his first homer there.

I wonder what weekend they will pick for the Civil Rights Game. I'm guessing in May when the Yankees are here.

That's not a White Sox event.

Opening Day on March 31? Should be nice and warm.

I know, I know, Opening Day was in April this year and it was 37 degrees at first pitch. But March 31?! You gotta be bleepin' me.

Can't be any worse than a Greyhound bus.

AT&T Park is at the very top of my list of ballparks I need to visit. The one time I was in San Francisco (April 2006), the Giants were on the road and I had to settle for McAfee Coliseum instead. Yuck. It really is as crappy in person as it looks on TV.

I have a friend who lives out in San Francisco and she suggested I come out and visit next August for the Sox/Giants series.

I've taken the Empire Builder from Seattle (maybe Portland? I don't remember, I was younger) before. I wouldn't recommend going both ways on the train (it's just a really, really ****ing long trip) but one-way is actually pretty nice. You just have to treat it as part of your trip and not just getting from Point A to Point B.

You are correct, I missed that... ****, when was the last time the Sox played a home and home interleague series with an opponent that wasn't the Cubs?

The fact that they'd be in Seattle the week before is extremely intriguing to me. Seattle is one of my favorite cities to visit, I haven't been there in forever, and San Francisco is on my list of cities to visit, plus I think our cousins there will have had the 2nd kid, so we'd need to visit, them too...

I wish we would play a series with every team each year. I don't need to play our same division foes 20 times per year. Boring.

Because it's the Sox on the press release they say 2014 season tickets are available on whitesox.com.

Not they're not.

I know that this season has been largely forgettable, but I believe the Sox played the Mets in a home and away series earlier this year.

You are correct. It appears that this is the first year that this has happened, though, so it looks like a home and home series with 1 interleague opponent is now the norm in the era of balanced divisions?
