Never had a Beggars pizza, but I like any move that brings more classic Chicago food to the Cell.

Back when I went to dozens of Sox games per year in high school and college, I remember always loading up on free pizza coupons to Connie's (you got them if your pizza won the on-screen pizza race). I think the dent I put into their profits may have convinced them to pull out of the deal.

Yeah Comiskey burger is pretty decent by ballpark standards. I think the price was pretty good, too.

I've never had Beggars, but it has to be better than DiGiorno. What a joke it was to have that as the official pizza of the Sox. Having a Chicago based chain just makes perfect sense.

I remeber using those Connie's pizza coupons whether I had a winner or not. Same with McDonalds. They never knew or cared if the big mac won.

Totally agree. And like I said, Beggars is a pretty good pizza option on a Friday night. Hopefully the stuff they serve at the park won't be too far from it.

Agreed. It just added to the notion of the Cell being rather generic that the Sox's official pizza was some frozen brand. DiGirono's might be be good as far as frozen pizzas go, but it's still frozen pizza. Good food historically had been one of the strong points for the Sox, but they've been left in the dust by the quality of food served at other parks in recent years. I think the Sox have taken step to improve the food offerings at the Cell over the last couple of years and it sounds like this is yet another step in the right direction.

Yeah, I never was a fan of the cheeseburgers they sold at the concessions at the Cell, but I tried a Comiskey burger last year and it was really good.

That Chicago-style pico de gallo is ****ing fantastic. I make it at home when I BBQ burgers. Lighting up the grill at home, man those were good times....

I wouldn't have even guessed that I'd really care for pico on a burger. But, I decided to give a Comiskey burger a try and I was pleasantly surprised.

I think there was a story in the Trib last year that the Sox did approach Three Floyds to provide some beer at the Cell but Three Floyds had to turn them down because they didn't feel they had the capacity at their brewery for such a large scale effort.

At any rate, the Beers of the Midwest kiosks are, at least by standards set against other local sports stadiums, really, really good.

That's a shame. I need to check out those kiosks.

They're often the first place I go to when I enter the park.

Oh definitely, it'd be a pretty lousy beer list at a restaurant, but compared to Wrigley, the UC, and Soldier Field, it blows them out of the water

Does anyone know about the bar the Sox are building on the right field concourse? Talked to a Sox beer vendor who works there and he told me about it. Suppose to be near where the vendors go in and out with their beer. He wasn't too happy about it.

Anything kind of pizza for a sporting event is better than DiGiorno (sp)
