Default *official* Tigers 1 Sox 0 04/08/2018

Swept by one of, if not the, worst in baseball. Says a lot about this club. Top 5 pick, here we come!

Default *Official 4/8/18 Postgame: You Can't Win If You Don't Score*

What was that again about this "high-powered" offense?

Tigers get two hits...and win, thanks to a passed ball in the first inning.

Lopez looked terrific, save for some walks which didn't hurt him and doesn't get ****.

Sox load the bases again early in the game...and again don't score anything.

And Rondon looked great in his first outing completely different from that stiff Minaya.

Oh well...2020, 2020, 2020.

The takeaway here is that Lopez has looked magnificent in two straight starts. The offense was due for a down day. Small victories, Lip.

The first inning was all you needed to see.

Maybe if they start playing fundamentally sound baseball the loses would hurt a little less.

True. The situational hitting has been absolute **** the past few games. No plate discipline at all.

Getting swept by a brutal, terrible Tigers team, even in a rebuilding phase is totally uncalled for.

Lopez was worth watching and Rondon did fine in his first appearance.

Lip, it's the defense too. A misplay on Martin in the first (LF) and a passed ball cost them a run right out of the gate.

The Tigers ran on the White Sox. I'd suggest that the pitching coach figure out how to get his battery to hold runners on.

They are not contenders this year. Therefore, losses only improve their draft position.

What matters is more good innings for Lopez.

Just like with debacle in Texas a few years ago the Opening Day disaster seems to have put the team in a funk while springboarding the Tigers.

The cold weather sucks to hit in but Detroit had to deal with it too.

Lopez and Rodon were standouts.

What also matters is playing fundamentally sound baseball.

Agreed Shingo, Lopez and Rodon were the reasons to listen.

Lopez...the new Quintana?

Weather is supposed to be miserable through Thursday, then of course, the Sox go to Minnesota. Nice! I saw where someone said it's supposed to be around 70 in Chicago as soon as they leave town.

Don't know if that's true or not, but it would be typical.

Look who was "trying" to play LF...another converted infielder. Garcia 2.0.

Sox don't give a damn about defense and it's costing them.

Also you talk about running, how many times did the Sox hit into DP's? You'd think Ricky would put some guys in motion, maybe let them steal for a change.

Guess not.

Truly in love with the idea that Lopez becomes a stud. He has the “stuff” to be that guy.

Not a fan of losing to one of the worst teams in baseball, but am not against another top 5 pick if it comes down to it.

We have to think dynasty, not short term.
