Every contract with performance incentives would need to be rewritten using calibrations that we donít even have. Unless teams want to just guarantee that money, this process could get ugly.

As ugly as the weather?

I'm glad Rizzo and some of the media are now starting to speak out on this. Probably nothing happens but if enough influential folks say something needs to be done there's always a chance something will happen.

LOL cut player salaries he says, as if players salaries have anything to do with number of games played by the league. They're entertainers. What the market will bear and in addition there won't be that much less money to go around.

But TV contracts will never allow this to happen. They need content and MLB will provide it. That's where most of the money is anyway.
