I am excited that this Sox team could contend for the #1 draft pick while also giving a lot of development time to the very small number of guys on the roster who are part of the rebuild. That's exactly what I wanted from this season: a ton of losses while also progress from guys like Moncada, Anderson, Sanchez, and I guess even Davidson now.

It depends on how many GB we are of the playoffs. What's the biggest deficit overcome? 12 games, right, in 1964 by Stl and 1995 by Seattle?

Once we're more than 12 out, then it's over, play the kids, experiment.

Or do that all year to get a high draft pick. As long as we don't pass on B Bonds again...

I was a doubter, but maybe, just maybe we can win with pitching, defense and fundamentals.

The 78 Yankees were 14 behind the Red Sox and won the playoff game.

The 1914 Boston Braves were 15 out on July 4. Then went 68-19 to win the pennant and then beat the A's in the World Series.
