Default *Official 5/18/18 Postgame: Fulmer...was awful*

Two innings, eight runs, three hits, five walks. He also hit two guys.

There's no way the Sox can keep sending him out there to be gutted. Mentally he's got to be blown. He needs to go back down to Double A to regroup.

For the #8 pick in the draft, he's terrible right now.

Soria is no better as he got lit up again. Four hits, three runs, two earned in one inning.

And...

Delmonico hit by pitch in third inning from Mike Moore. Broken right hand...out four to six weeks.

I think he needs a sports psychologist more than work at a lower level. The guy seems to have no confidence in getting the ball over the plate. His Vanderbilt stats don't suggest this level of wildness.

He needs to be sent down where the pressure is less as he tries to get himself together.

Paging Harvey Meisel, paging Harvey Meisel.

Try him out as a starter, then send him to the bullpen if that doesn't work. If he can't pitch well in Charlotte in either role, you can close the book on him. I've had enough of him in the meantime.

That makes sense. Bullpen won't help him, pitching the way he has.

I would have been pretty upset if they didn't option Fulmer after that performance. That's the third straight start he's been knocked out without completing four innings.

In three of his nine starts this season, he has failed to get more than six outs. Not acceptable.

He's not only losing his game, he's putting a strain on the rest of the pitching staff by failing to even get to the fifth inning.

Soria is starting to slip toward being a DFA candidate. Can't be used in any situation other than mop-up. Not that the Sox actually would DFA him.

Last night was the first time I ever turned off a game because I felt sorry for a player struggling on the field.

Bad news on top of bad news.

So who will replace Delmonico and Fulmer on the 25 man roster?

With Fulmerís demotion and Delmonicoís injury, this could be a perfect pretext just to call up both Kopech and Eloy.

So if the Sox donít call them up, itís the crystal clear signal that what happens on the MLB team is completely irrelevant to the timelines for the prospects.

Fittingly, Fulmer is the last pitcher the Sox rushed in an effort to bolster their major league team. Being methodical with Kopech and Eloy is emblematic for how this organization has changed.

Meanwhile, Yoan's k-rate has dipped to 34 percent. Not sure if he is sacrificing power or what changed, but he is basically making contact almost every time now.

But, for non-contending teams, isn't that exactly the truth? I have no issue with them keeping both down as long as they feel is proper.
