Great article. Thanks for the posting.
Today we take video for granted in the teaching of baseball fundamentals, but that wasn't always the case. Even with the emergence of cheap video recording equipment in the early 1980s it still took a while to gain acceptance, even among Major League organizations. I can still recall baseball writers and commentators of the period questioning the wisdom of teams like the Los Angeles Dodgers (one of the earliest users) using video to improve player development and performance.

Great article. It's articles like this that keep me checking in around here. Things I'd never get to see otherwise. Thank you.

Excellent article - thanks.
I always thought that Tom Emansky was a major league player from the 80s - for one of the midwest teams like the Twins, Cardinals or Royals. I'll have to go look at the rosters to see who I mistook him for.

Okay - I found him - Tom Brunansky.

Prior to coaching videos, coaching was mostly learned from books or from direct experience and good direct experience is always hard to come by.

On the whole these videos were very helpfull for dad's looking to become better baseball coaches, unfortunately they still don't stop the 4 dads getting together and having their crappy kids take up 4 spots on a 12 roster team.
