Since Game 1, the Yankees' lineup is hitting .155 (16-103) with 5 XBH and only one of their runs coming by anything other than a HR. They really haven't even taken advantage of the 16 BB they've drawn off of Astros' pitching in the three losses.

Do the Astros wrap it up tonight with Verlander on the mound? It would bode well for Houston to wrap it up tonight and then they won’t have to use Gerrit Cole in a game 6 and can open the World Series with Cole and Verlander in Games 1 and 2. A big game tonight for sure and I suspect the Yankees will be tough to put away as they are fighting for their postseason lives.

CC Sabathia's career is probably over. Tough way to go out.

If you have a chance close out a series in the other team's park, do it. Unless I'm missing one there have been seven times where a team overcame a 3-1 deficit to win a series (1925 WS, 1958 WS, 1968 WS, 1979 WS, 1985 WS, 2003 NLCS, 2004 ALCS*, 2016 WS) Five of the winners did so winning games 6 and 7 one the road.

* The 2004 involved a team overcoming a 3-0 deficit, but of course, that also involved a 3-1 deficit.

There was also the 1985 ALCS.

Bullpen Start for both the Yankees and Astros tonight. If the Yankees win tonight, they face Cole in Game 7.

Here in Washington, folks want to see the ALCS go 7 games so that Cole cannot pitch twice in the World Series.

When you have your opponent on the ropes end it. Pitch Cole on Sunday.

Decision to pitch Verlander on short rest in the Rays series really looks bad given his struggles last night.

He had a very rough first inning but ended up going 7 and only giving up one more hit through the 6.2 that followed the 3-run bomb. Sometimes good hitters win and the Yankees are obviously highly focused and motivated.

That was apparently the first time Verlander gave up 4 runs in the first inning since 2014.

Just going through the Preseason Prediction contest and starting to enter results into the spreadsheet and WhiteSox5187 had Yankees over Nat in WS.

DoItForDanPasqua had the same picks

What an at-bat by D.J. LeMahieu.
