Good solid move by the Sox! 1 yr 6 million with a 2nd year option at 6 million at clubs desecration. Now go sign Collin McHugh and Ben Zobrist who could fill in at 2B for a month or more as needed and fill in the OF.

In terms of roster construction and filling holes, this to me feels like the most complete White Sox offseason since 2005. Now much of that has to do with the number of glaring holes that had been on this roster going into the offseason, but still the front office has certainly done a stupendous job this year, IMO. Well done.

Considering all the flack I threw at this organization since last year's fiasco, this is quite the 180. Well done, Rick & Co:

Yeah, his stuff had noticeably better life to close and he actually located it.

Regardless, not a terrible list of veteran RPs with young competition.

Colome
Bummer
Herrera
Marshall
Fry
Cishek
Cordero
Burdi
Fulmer

I'm sure we'll see some outside of that group step up in camp and make a name for themselves like every year. Regardless, nine guys I can totally live with bringing to AZ competing for six or seven spots.

Burdi needs to get 100%, but he was probably only a fluke injury away from a September call up. Late inning competition, for sure.

Fulmer may well be that new 26th man. A 7th SP/ long man every team needs to make it through 162 games. Have to give him another run here in his last option year.

There's also IMO a decent change you see one of Lopez/Gio as a long man if Kopech is ready to go at the MLB level out of ST (or if not, shortly thereafter barring a 6-man rotation, which would also lessen the need for long relief as starters get extra rest between games).

And in 2d half, a decent chance you see Rodon as another (or taking over as 5th starter and pushing prior 5th to the pen).

Somebody elsewhere mentioned that the Sox just spent less this offseason, and got more done, than if they would have signed one of the big names from last offseason.

Works for me.

Can we start printing playoff tickets now?

I've already informed all my loved ones to not die in October. Might miss their funeral(s).

For some reason reminds me of Chiang Kai Shek. That's close to GRF.

I remember the same. Any shred of the former Herrera is gonna help us out.

He was also very good before he got hurt, too. If he's healthy he'll be fine.

Told so many folks to get off the ledge last February.

The Sox learned from their huge mistake last year and put their focus on realistic targets this go around.
