Default *Official* That's Called A Winning Streak 8/4 Postgame Thread

Rodon and the bullpen were sharp again. 3 wins in a row now!

The more I see Rodon, the more I like his style.

Check out tonight's Totally Biased Game Recap, missing a Pick-To-Click winner since none's been announced yet. I nominate Carlos.

A winning streak is such a strange feeling.

Odd that the Sox have three games in St. Pete then come home, but hey, its already a winning road trip.

Bullpen looked pretty good today. Let's hope Thyago Vieira is a keeper.

Thyago Vieira*. That's a great name for a new closer.

Nice to see him grab the save and get the ball.

* I think I spelled that correctly.

If my math is correct a win tomorrow will put the Sox at .500 since the break.
Before Iím attacked: I know winning doesnít matter, etc, etc but if this team could pull off a .500 second half based on Rodon/Lopez/Giolito looking like a legitimate 3/5 of a starting rotation, count me in.

I know itís not likely (next week sees the Yankees and Indians come to town. Gulp.). But at least at this point itís within reach and it makes watching these games somewhat more interesting.

And how sweet would it be to shove it up the Yankees *** next week?

Thatís great that you are concerned with spelling a playerís name right. So-called professionals like Teddy Greenstein could take lesson or two.

Rodon walked five guys and hit a guy, so he basically gave the Rays one free trip to 1B per inning that they didnít earn. However, he gave up only one extra-base hit the entire night. Itís a little bit conflicting.

On one hand, itís perfectly valid to expect a guy with Rodonís stuff to keep the ďfreebiesĒ to a minimum. I canít argue with anyone who insists that he should throw strikes and make opponents earn their way on base. On the other hand, I think there is something to be said about not simply ďgiving inĒ on 3-ball counts.

Three quality starts in a row is encouraging.

And I loved the aggressive nature in the 9th inning the Sox displayed. Do something to force the other team to make a mistake, which they did. Ricky talked about it in the postgame.

Sure is. Granted they came against KC and Tampa, but Lopez, Gio and Rodon all threw gems.

5 games so far with the Rays, all by 1 run, lets win today and sweep the series and also win a season series and also shut up Rays announcers Staats and Anderson on how lousy the Sox are.

Yeah, but they think that 1 1/5 years into the rebuild that the Sox should be better.
