So let's get this party bumping.
I think the pitching improvements need to come from within, as do the improvements in the outfield. Plus, the draft added one more piece to that final infield puzzle. Plus, were still waiting on a highly-regarded catching prospect to work his way up the minor league ranks. The focus of 2019 is likely to be providing long-term solutions to those problems, not chasing down the Indians.

Eloy has been taken out of Charlotte's lineup tonight. Is the kid getting the call up?

Sox website today has Getz saying that Eloy is close to joining the big club.

Reports now that Eloy is out with flu-like symptoms.

I think it is incredibly short-sighted to call him up this year.

Why? He is ready to play in the bigs, that's clear as day. He is ready to begin his development as the MLB level. Just because the Sox probably won't be even good next year doesn't mean we should pause our prospects' development.

I agree hes probably ready to hit in the majors. But what if the Sox want him further to improve his fielding, throwing, and/or or base running? It would be a major break with their previous development philosophy, and its only a hypothetical, but what would our reaction be if tomorrow Hahn were to announce specifically, we think hes ready to hit but we still want him to improve his fielding, throwing, and base running; those are the boxes he still needs to check.

It's not any harder to run the bases and field in the majors than it is in AAA, the Sox are a minor league team at this point and he won't be costing them valuable games by his errors or base running mistakes. He isn't any worse likely than both Garicia's and Delmonico in the field. He also isn't going to drastically improve in those 2 areas over the next 2 months or so to make a noticeable difference.

The guy is over-ripe for a call-up. What's the hurt - get him used to the show, especially with big-name teams still left to play.

The hurt is losing a year of service time.

The most satisfaction any of us will receive from this dead-in-the-water season would be to see Jimenez and the Sox put a big dent in the Cubs' division hopes in that last week of the season.

If the Brewers can just manage to hang around, that series is going to be huge. Those three games will be the Sox playoffs.
