Default Yoan Moncada practice video

He appears to be hitting practice golfballs with a piece of metal rebar or something of similar width.

It's been a tool for many years. The bat is called a grobat. In the end are slots to weight the bat. When I was coaching youth baseball ~ 15 years ago, we did this before every game. We had 3 stations. You started with regular bat and 16'' softball, moved to station with heavily weighted grobat and whiffle golf balls, and finished in the cages with live pitching. the little ball off the little bat makes the batter focus on making contact. Great drills. Miss those days. No all my kids want to do is drink on my dime!
