I thought the Indians did quite well. Granted...I'm not going to bet against Kluber returning to form. But they extracted pretty good value for him.

Clase is going to be one of the better closers in baseball, perhaps as early as next season. They didn't walk away with nothing.

And Price is 34, and has had only one full season out of the last three.

I mean just because they didn't walk away with nothing, doesn't mean they did quite well.

Not seeing anyone who agrees with that. Myself, it looks like a salary dump for a bottom top 30 team prospect that throws hard and had decent numbers last year. Those guys are a dime a dozen each year. Deshields is a non tender candidate and has little to no value.

Saying that he is going to be one of the better closers in baseball after him having 1 career save is a bold statement that doesn't have much backing it. Not to mention that he won't even be closing for the Indians next year unless they trade Brad Hand, which hasn't been even rumored.

It's a long shot that he'll be closing in the majors next year. But he's only recently even been relieving. He's being groomed to close though. Or at least that's what Texas wanted. Who knows...maybe the Indians will try and stretch him back out.

FWIW, he's 24 of 28 in save opportunities across levels the last two seasons (his only two relieving).

Good for him.

It's an indoor stadium when the weather is crappy.

Maybe he will be; but in the end, he's a reliever. The Rangers did not leave themselves vulnerable to the good ole "who could have known?"

Maybe we can get Price for Burdi

Haha...Sergio Romo.

The relief market is getting thin. We could really use a setup guy/better closer.

IMO there is no reason for the Sox to not take some of the money that would have gone to Wheeler and use it to sign a few relievers to 1-2 year deals. Worst case scenario they are trade pieces at the deadline when contending teams are always desperate for bullpen help.

Brewers picked up Eric Sogard. Which is either going to look brilliant (1 year $4.5 million and a team option), or terrible if he reverts.
