Just excellent. Even if he tanked, 6/50 is nothing in today's game.

I cannot believe after the last decade that I'm actually excited about 2020 White Sox baseball.

8 seasons of Luis Robert, solid solid work by the Sox. If he flops, you are done with him after 6 but it's not crippling money.

Eloy, Anderson, and now Robert are locked in for a long time now at cost controlled.

Great move by the Sox. And if Yoan comes out strong again, the Sox need to try to get him locked up also. But at least there's Sox control for four more.

Just like Eloy last year. Very happy those two and Tim Anderson will be here for a long time to come. The future on the South Side is as bright as it's been in years.

Assuming Robert is structured like Eloy's with 1M extra each year:

Anderson/Eloy/Robert, combined salaries are below:

2020 - 9.18
2021 - 14.91
2022 - 22.16
2023 - 31.16 (12.5 anderson option)
2024 - 39.16 (14.0 anderson option)

This is an awesome deal! I agree, Moncada needs to be next, but it will cost a bit more to lure him out of free agency. I would love a 6/80 for Moncada… buys out 2 years of FA.

Worth the risk IMO. I really like what the White Sox have done with these long term deals for the top prospects.

These deals are the envy of the baseball world right now. You can criticize the Sox front office for lots of things, but they've shown themselves to be innovative and forward-thinking in getting these contracts done.

Maybe Moncada gets jealous of all his teammates' bank accounts and that pressures him into signing a similar extension?

Sox business is brutal and antiquated for the most part.

But if there is one thing they do better than any other team out there is locking in on their young talent early.

Moncada got a 32 million dollar signing bonus in 2015. So there probably won't be too much jealousy. But hopefully, he wants to be part of what's going on here and the Sox come with a good offer so he signs on.

Good deal for all sides. The oft-injured Luis Robert gets some guaranteed cash. Benefits for the Sox if Luis works out are obvious.

Robert got 26... Moncada 31.5... I'd say Moncada might still be interested in a 6/80 deal, which if he gets off to a good start this year, would be a STEAL!
