For catchers absolutely as long as they can hit home runs and draw walks.

Rutherford with home run number five. He will finish with double digit home runs, and should be on every top list.

If he’s getting on base at .350+ and hitting 20+ HR, then yes, .250 is acceptable for a catcher.

Outside of Collins, what is the rest of your future team hitting?

Finally a good start for Fulmer at AAA. 7 innings pitched, 11 Ks, 7 hits and 3 runs allowed. The most surprising stat is he only walked 1 batter.

When Fulmer starts showing consistency then we'll have something.

MLB Pipeline has refreshed their Top 100 prospect list. 2018 draftees have not yet been incorporated. Notably:
Juan Soto leaps into the #3 spot, which pushes Eloy one spot down, to #4. Kopech drops a couple spots to #12. Robert drops a couple spots to #26. Cease is now the #4 prospect in the organization, at #43 overall. Hansen drops a couple spots to #49. Dunning keeps climbing, to #56. Rutherford remains in the back end of the Top 100, at #85. Collins deservedly re-enters the Top 100, at #99. Given that no draftees are ranked, I’d expect Collins to fall back out of the Top 100 once they are, unless further updates to incumbent prospect rankings are considered. But if Collins falls back, we still have 8 in the Top 100 because Madrigal will slot somewhere into the middle of this list. Injuries didn’t cost anyone their prospect stock, just development time. |

Joel Booker had a memorable debut at AA going 4 for 5 with a SB. He's not a top prospect, but he hit well at Kannapolis the 2nd half of last season and at W-S the first half of this season.
Tonight, Hansen gets his 2nd start of the season for Birmingham and recently-promoted Adams gets his 2nd start for Charlotte. |

Two comments related to the recent string of promotions:
1. It's amazing how much more interesting the AA rotation is than now than at the start of the season, when Jordan Stephens was the only guy who looked halfway competent out there (Adams, Guerrero, Tomehaw, and Clarkin all had ERAs over 6 IIRC). Since then they've adding Dunning, Cease, and Hansen, who are 3 of the top 4 pitching prospects in the organization, as well as Flores. At some point Puckett will be ready too. 2. I was thinking yesterday how I'm not sure anymore who we should be following at Kanny, since it seems that all of the most interesting guys were just promoted. Then they go out and win 9-0. Seems they might still have some talent, and that'll get reinforced when some of the guys from the most recent draft class are brought in (Walker and Pilkington should start there, maybe Madrigal as well). |

Nick Madrigal with 2 runs scored and an RBI today. Oregon State is nearly at the championship.

Rutherford with his 6th home run.....
And a double to plate two more. Probably gets promoted towards the end of year. Last edited by guillensdisciple; 06-22-2018 at 08:14 PM. |

Pretty interesting dynamic coming into play. Stephens and Adam's are reaching their potential. One of them can probably get a roster spot next year (two of Covey misses out). Out of Fulmer, Stephens, and Adams we are probably either going to have some good trade pieces or interesting staffs next year.
