67 years and a lot of heartache but at least they managed to win it all in 2005. Hopefully there is another one in the near future.

The biggest rush of the season for me came after I watched Mark Buehrle close out Game 3, on a television at work. A few minutes later, I walked out into the cold foggy night, the air heavy with the sea smell of the Gastineau Channel on the other side of the street, and realized for the first time I my life, the White Sox were going to win the World Series.

Of course, there was the thrill of Game 4, Dye's big hit, Uribe taking over the game defensively with two outs in the eighth and such, but it felt anticlimactic. The White Sox stamped their mark of ownership on the season in Game 3 and the Astros weren't going to take it away.

Was at my mom's (who just so happens to be a Cub fan) house when the Sox won this one. I have to give her credit for sticking in my corner during that postseason run since I know it had to be killing her a bit. I remember going in my car later to drive around and honk along in celebration with all the other motorists. I was on cloud nine when the team won that one. A big **** you to the Cub fan who came up to me in the hall in high school shortly after this with the egregious claim that the Sox cheated.

I can't recall the last time the Sox had set-up tandem that had the kind of magical years that both Neal Cotts and Cliff Pollitte had in 2005, both of whom pretty much fell off the map after the World Series
