Default 2020 HOF ballot

Is Jeter the only one who gets in?

This writer thinks so. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/mlb...3yg?li=BBnb7Kz

I'd like to see Larry Walker in.

I was a doubter, but maybe, just maybe we can win with pitching, defense and fundamentals.

Him and Rolen are deserving.

My ballot would be:

Roger Clemens
Barry Bonds
Todd Helton
Derek Jeter
Andruw Jones
Scott Rolen
Gary Sheffield
Billy Wagner
Larry Walker
Curt Schilling

To me Bonds and Clemens were HOF players before they juiced. Then both MLB and writers ignored all the steroid use until they could no longer ignore it.

Konerko is on the ballot but his career war is surprisingly low. I think much of it has to do with the fact he played during the steroid era.

If you were a voter, you get only 10 votes.

I believe that Jeter, Walker, and Schilling should be elected to the HoF.

If I were a voter I might vote for Chone Figgins and JJ Putz just for fun.

Isn't everyone who ends their career automatically added to the ballot after the waiting period? Now obviously 99% of those players will never make it to the hall or even get a single vote, but being on the ballot merely says eligibility doesn't it?

No, there's a six-person committee that votes on who makes the ballot. You need to meet the eligibility requirements AND have 2 out of 6 members of that committee vote for you.

There's only 32 names on the ballot. This includes players who are repeaters who have not reached the vote threshold yet like Sammy Sosa. I'm sure more than 32 players retired five years ago.

My vote would be for Jeter and Schilling. No juicers in the HOF.
