Does 50 miles away make it a suburb? Crystal Lake is closer to downtown Chicago than Valpo is.

I don't know what the "definition" is. East Chicago is even closer.

The Chokeland A's. Back to back 97 win seasons and they're gone in one game. Really tired of hearing how plucky and scrappy, etc. the A's are when they never do anything.

One playoff series win in now 31 years is pretty amazing.

Congrats to Avi Garcia, who has hit a game-winning homer in a playoff game.

Condolences to Marcus Semien, who will need to console himself with finishing in the top 5 for MVP voting.

Lots of people commute from Valpo to the Chicago area; they even had their own commuter train until 1990.

On the other hand.... Chris Berman called Neal Cotts a "local boy" because he grew up in Belleville, Illinois. "Local" if he were on the Cardinals!

Billy Beane is quoted as saying "My **** doesn't work in the playoffs." No, Mr. Beane, it does not.

Blocked at short by Alexei, they kept playing him at 3B where the ball got to him too fast. Did take him a long time to make it as a hitter. Sad for us anyway.

I guess with perfect foresight, the Sox would have kept Marcus Semien at 2nd base, Tim Anderson at SS, and banished Yolmer Sanchez to the land of wind and ghosts. At no point before 2019 was it clear that there was much of a difference between any of those three players though.

And who knows, Tim Anderson and Marcus Semien may never repeat their amazing 2019 seasons.

So, Keuchel is Atlanta's # 1? That's a surprise.

The Cardinals come from behind 1-0, then 3-1, to erupt in the 9th inning. 7-3 Cardinals now.

Now itís Foltyniewicz, who spent significant time demoted to Gwinnett this season, vs. Flaherty, who likely will receive some love from the Cy Young Award electorate.
