In Bryant's case, Boras is specifically telling the Cubs he won't hear them out. That is NOT normal. Not for Boras, at least.

I believe SB Nation covered just that topic earlier this year, I will try to find the article.
Here is one from June 2017 faulting no one.

Still looking for anything since.

I am over JR and his threatened move to Florida in the last 80's.

I am NOT over conceding the Chicago market to the Cubs, misplaced loyalty to members of the organization that have not delivered, and an overall "small market" mindset when it comes to the potential for this franchise.
I have my doubts that the ďmarketĒ for White Sox baseball is as big as you are suggesting it is. Exactly how big is a 1/3 share of the Chicagoland market when compared to the reach of other MLB teams?

Step back a moment and take a breath. This is crazy talk.

That's awfully presumptuous on about three different levels.

I have to agree with Brian here. I think you've gotten all worked up about this and have created this scenario inside your head and are convinced it's true, but it all appears to be just speculation on your part. The fact that the facts as you see them fit into the future reality as you predict it doesn't mean you're correct.

Might be time to take deep breath and step back.

Yes, it is a wise agent indeed who agitates his client with negative thoughts about the team heís committed to for the next, what? Six years? Itíll be good to have him thinking negative thoughts, stewing on the bench for long periods on days when he DHs, having his concentration when heís at bat and in the field be on how the team heís with (for the next several years) has wronged him egregiously. Because him dogging it because he hates ownership is a great way to get a bigger paycheck when heís cleared his team control. Yep, thatís a good agent.

Mike Trout sure springs to mind. He would be a half billion dollar man had he not signed the 6/144 extension with the Angels.

Ha.

You have reminded me why I should stay off this board tonight, though.

Default Game Day!

I haven't been to a game in far too long (usually watching on MLB Ticket from my couch). However, I picked up tickets for tonight's game and am excited to see Kopech's debut in person.

My son is heading off to college in a little over a week and he is going to be meeting up with a couple of his future college baseball teammates at the game as well. Good to know he's going to school with other White Sox fans...makes for an easier transition

Nothing like being told you're the next Walter Payton...…..
Or Gavin Floyd?

Was there another Sox player to wear 34 after Floyd? I can't remember.

Anyway, looking forward to getting home tonight and watching Kopech's debut. Happy for the kid. Happy for the organization. Think he's going to be someone special.

WGN's report says partly cloudy tonight: https://wgntv.com/weather/forecast/

I'll be in section 107 tonight. Hoping for dry weather.
