Unfortunately the camera work for MiLB.TV at Jackson last night was very poor. I could see how fast the ball was getting to the plate (REAL FAST) but no clue as to movement.

In the brief spring training innings I saw the answer was yes, he had some movement and some accuracy as well. It appeared he had some edge of the plate accuracy last night too, but again, the camera angle was poor so no real way to say so for sure.

Charlotte completed the sweep today and are now 4-0, scored a bunch of runs. Moncada was held hitless but a pretty solid first series means I'm gonna try to stop by Charlotte when I drive through later this summer.

Also really hoping to see some more consistency from Fulmer. I believe he will be starting again on Wednesday, and I hear that his more controlled delivery has paid dividends so after years of watching wild Carson I'm intrigued to see what we have now.

No Charlotte on TV today.

But Moncada goes yard to CF from the right side, good sign.

Also has walked so far.

Pelfrey was bad (as expected).

Raburn goes yard on his first AB, so fitting.

And some people were worried about him after the first few weeks of ST. Kid looks like a stud.

I could see where one can worry about his K rate, but that comes hand in hand to his walk rate too.

Which is the Superstar Norm at the Big League Level today.

Fun with small sample sizes!

Check out these hitting stats from Charlotte's first week.

Raburn 1.833 OPS in 3 AB
W Garcia 1.529 in 18
Vinicio 1.308 in 13
Pena 1.200 in 5
Hayes 1.158 in 20
Moncada 1.114 in 23
Delmonico 1.090 in 20
Smith 1.063 in 16
Ladendorf .917 in 12

Regression to the mean is going to be painful.

Heck, down in Birmingham, Cleuluis Rondon is sitting at 1.136 after 11. And he could be the worst hitter the Sox have treated like a prospect in the past five years.

Remind me not to check the stats again until June...

Aggressive (and successful) running from Moncada this inning. Took second on a deep fly to left then scored from second on a fairly average single to left.

Alec Hansen solid rebound outing. Really love his upside.

5 IP 9Ks only 1 ER and 1 BB.

Solid.

So many electric arms. Can't remember another team having this many potential 10K/9 guys in their system at one time.

Throw in Rodon with say the likes of Kopech, Lopez, Hansen come 2019, that would be one hell of an over powering rotation. Assuming they all develop from here to then.

Then pick from Giolito, Dunning, Fulmer, Adams to fill out the #5 spot.

And then a bullpen headlined by a couple of those guys + Burdi.

And of course you also have to factor in whoever the Sox get back for Q/Todd/etc in trade + the next couple of drafts.

Obviously there will be injuries and guys that bust, but barring some really bad luck we're going to have a really incredible set of arms to watch in a few years.
