Default 1994 versus 2019

Conversation on a simulation of the 1994 playoffs got me to wondering. Which is the better young sox rotation. I hope and believe that there is more talent with our current group. let the voters decide.

Fun to dream about the future and compare rotations. I gotta say that after the Sox won the division in 1993, I was convinced that we had entered the Golden Era of Sox baseball anchored by Black Jack, Alvarez, Young Alex and Bere. **Sigh** You really never know, do you? Maybe this is the beginning of that Golden Era?

As of right now its not even a contest, you have to go with 1994. Its still way to early on how good or bad Rodon and the others will turn out. No doubt about it, the potential is there. If Rodon stays healthy he could wind up as one of the best Sox pitchers ever, that's if he stays with the Sox.

You cannot compare what actually happened versus what hasn't even happened yet.

Whoa there - I realize all four starters listed there had good starts recently, but Giolito and Lopez still have elephantine ERAs and Kopech has two major league starts to his name, one of which was rained out after 2 innings

Default Black Jack

Why did Sox trade McDowell for Lyle Mouton instead of giving it one more shot in 1995?

The '94 rotation was already established at that point. This isn't a fair comparison. 2019 vs. 1992 might be more accurate, although Bere wasn't up by that point.
