We definitely put on the offensive fireworks a day early! Hopefully this is the start of things clicking for Moncada. I still don’t know what the best thing to do with Avi is because he could be too expensive by the time we are contending and be gone anyway. Too bad we didn’t get more of this when he had more years of team control. Regardless, it’s great to see him doing well!

I think a lot of pitchers will have tough times in this type of weather. I like how our relievers came in and did their job. I think we’ll have some open slots coming up in the pen though as more teams need relief help for upcoming playoff pushes and we get even more prospects for the system.

Six strikeouts for Hector Santiago in two innings last night.

Hopefully that was an audition for the 8th inning role that has been quite the clown show as of late.

Had Avi and Davidson performed like this earlier, the Sox might not have even instigated the Sale and Eaton trades.

And we'd be the Orioles with a couple better players, IMO.

Davidson has discovered the base on balls, with a vengance. He's a different batter than before. Avi has yet to get the message. Wish he would, still he's a force when healthy.

What a great game to watch, regardless of the standings. Great comeback, some drama late, great announcing. Benetti and Stone were having fun. Loved seeing the Adam Engel fan club in the stands too.

FWIW, I noticed Moncada's pause also (hey, I hit it, maybe I should run!)

We'd potentially have 3-4 players with 4+ WAR (even 1 with 7+ and 1 with 6+) and another 3-4 with 3+ WAR. Last year the Orioles had 1 player with 4+ WAR and another with 3+. The Indians had 4 players with 4+ WAR and 4 with 3+. We'd be a lot better than the Orioles.

I'd be pretty surprised if 3-4 of these guys don't end up with 4+ and at least 8 will have 3+.

Abreu
Eaton
Sale
Quintana
Garcia
Sanchez
Anderson
Frazier
Davidson
Robertson
Rodon

In this alternate timeline, do we make the Shields deal? If so, our top 10 prospects are: Robert, Madrigal, Hansen, Collins, Burger, Adolfo, Sheets, Burdi, Adams, Gonzalez. We’d still have gaping holes in CF, C, the back of the rotation, and the bullpen. And there either would be tremendous pressure to rush prospects like Collins, or deal them for stopgap veterans in order to compete before Sale hits free agency.

Still think Moncada will be a top five baseball player when he hits his peak. I know this looks like a silly prediction, but man.

This is the other extreme from the bust proclamations.

I'm just looking for a top 5 2B at this point.

Be Ray Durham. I think most of us would be thrilled with that.

Not really a prediction. Just a thought.
