Sox have 5 games left, with the double header on Friday vs. the Tigers. Potentially that gives TA 20-25 more plate appearances/AB's. If he can get 5-7 hits this weekend, there's almost no way he can be caught.

Yankees are off. Rendon went 0/2 and is at .321. He's done.

Anderson was 1-4, dropped to .338.

LeMahieu has 10 points of batting average to make up in three days. Not impossible, but a monumental task. Will take three multi-hit games in those three days. Any 0-fer game by LeMahieu will probably lock it up for Tim.

Tim's not looking to drive the ball. He wants that BA title.

Assuming Tim will get 16-18 plate appearances over the next four games, I think itís a wrap no matter what if he gets at least 3 hits.

Just wanted to add that Tim has only one error in September and his DWAR has climbed to almost even (-0.1) - up 2/10 since that error. If he continues to improve his focus while making throws then he's going to be a stud defensive SS for a long time.

I think Anderson will get one game off today and wouldn't be surprised to see an early exit on Saturday and Sunday if it looks like he's got it wrapped up. I also can envision the Yankees resting DJ for a game over the weekend.

Pretty sure he'll only play one game today.

I'm pretty everyone on the Tigers and Sox will play only one today. The weather people are telling us to build an Ark.

As it turns out, the Sox and Tigers will play no games today, and Tim's 0-2 stats will be wiped out. The Sox and Tigers will only have 161 games of stats.

LeMahieu went 3-5 and raised his average to .331. TA stands at .338.

As of this morning, Anderson is 167/494 for a .3381 average.

His lead is not yet safe; he is not guaranteed the batting title if he simply sits out. LeMahieu is at 197/596 for a .3305 average, and could get to .3383 by going 7-for-7, 8-for-10, or 9-for-13. That's a tall order.

Now let's say LeMahieu were to sit out today, while Anderson played both games and went 0-for-10. That would bring TA down to .3313, still an eyelash ahead.

If TA were to sit out both of today's games, he would probably sew up the batting title and be able to play tomorrow with no pressure. I don't think he'll do that, because he loves the challenge. But he's 10-for-36 against Matthew Boyd (.278) and 4-6 against Tyler Alexander. He really should sit out against Boyd and feast against the rest of the Tigers' staff.

EDIT: I just checked the lineup and it looks like Mendick is starting against Boyd. Good move.

I really, really, REALLY want TA to win the title and Abreu to lead the league or MLB in RBI. It would also be nice to see Moncada finish 3d in the AL batting race.
