Default Herm Article

Gotta love Herm. Great article on him in the Tribune. Say what you will about the organization, but people like Herm and Roger Bossard are reasons I love this franchise.

Great read, but: "No team has used the disabled list less frequently than the Sox since 2002 — 169 times, accounting for 8,267 days. The Astros are a distant second at 204 times and 9,942 days."

I've been assured that the White Sox have the very worst luck with injuries. What gives?

Read the White Sox media guide and learn something...the something is they were above the league average in number of times using the DL and days missed.

As others have sometimes told me, what happened in (pick a year) doesn't matter TODAY and it's also interesting that the author picked 2002 to start. They obviously forgot about the carnage particularly to the pitching staff in 2000 and 2001.

What gives?

Agreed 100%!

Jerry Reinsdorf has made mistakes but I greatly admire his loyalty.

“...once saved Greg Walker from swallowing his tongue by breaking Walker’s teeth.”

Anyone got the backstory on that?!

I think Greg Walker had a seizure and Herm reacted. Here’s the article.
