Post 5/13 Games

Not wanting to watch Adkins pitch, I figured I'd post some of the minor league news early.

He's baaack! Charlotte behind BMac won the first game of a doubleheader 7-0 over Richmond. McCarthy 7IP (complete game) 3H 0R 0BB 7K. The Knights staked him to a 6-0 lead early and he cruised. Anderson 1-3 with a run scored.

Our own knuckleballer Charles Haeger threw for the Barons tonight. He beat Huntsville 6-0. Haeger 9IP 5H 0R 2BB 3SO. CYoung hit leadoff tonight. He was 0-0 with 4BB's and 3 runs scored. He also stole 3rd. (That might answer the question in another thread if he is ready to play Ozzieball.) Edit: Young is now 7-11 with 8 rbi and 7 runs scored in the series. Blakely had a big game 3-3 with a homer and 4 rbi. Sweeney, Fields, Gonzalez, Lopez, and Rosa all went 1-4.

W-S split a doubleheader. The Warthogs beat Frederick 6-0 in game one behind Ryan Rodriguez 7IP (complete game) 4H 0R 0BB 3K. Micah Schnurstein 2-3 with a homer and 4 rbi.

In the second game a collection of guys from the bullpen got drilled 11-4. Bright spots: Valido 2-4, Collaro hit his 28th homer.

Kanny lost at Lakewood 6-3. Ricky Brooks was ineffective 5.2IP 8H 4R 4ER 1BB 3SO. Rote faced 3 guys, 2 of them scored. His ERA in his short time in the SAL is an eye-popping 22.50. Cook was 3-5 with his 19th homer.

Bristol won 7-1 over Greenville. Homers for Aaron Cunningham (.322) and Kris Welker. Sanchez was 2-5 but with 2 more K's. He's hitting .246. Acosta 2-4 with a walk, he's up to .327.

Looks like a good day in the minors. I wonder when Bullinger will get his first innings?
